2019 tax season for individual filers began January 27
Posted on February 4, 2020
It’s official. The IRS is accepting and processing individual fliers tax returns as of Monday, Jan. 27, 2020, which means our CPAs are ready to help you file.
Now through Wednesday, April 15, 2020, this year’s deadline, more than 150 million individual tax returns for the 2019 tax year are expected to be filed. As always, the vast majority of those returns will be filed on or before the April tax deadline.
But why wait? The sooner you file, the quicker your refund. As the season progresses, more taxpayers file, and the IRS system slows down because of the sheer volume of data.
So, as soon as your W2s are in hand and you have your information for the year collected, give us a call – especially if you:
- owe back taxes
- changed jobs, began a new business or sold a business
- experienced a major life change (such as a marriage, divorce, new baby, or child entering college)
- sold or purchased stock,
- or experienced any other event that had possible financial repercussions.
That’s what we’re here for.
Teipen Selanders Poynter & Ayres encourages all our clients to file electronically and choose direct deposit. We have found it to be fast, very safe, accurate, and best of all, the quickest way to get your refund back as fast as possible.
